Thought I'd put some pics up now it's all finished. All done by Leon at Alunox exhausts in Wrexham, UK. Superb job as always! Manifolds:

I'm using an emerald K3 on it. Works a treat, the software is excellent.

Possibly but it won't be soon, too busy! Someone could register a name then post the uname and password up here for everyone to use?

Overbored VH45DE, 98mm bore. More info on the build here: http://www.300zx-club.com/forum/showthread.php?t=932

After what seems like for ever, it's finally running! This is just running on a very crude map I punched in to make sure it would idle and rev up off idle. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ncxR7xNcSfI

vh series intake and exhaust manifold design...

For what it's worth I have a friend who makes a lot of turbo and NA manifolds, mainly for race teams. His recommendation is to always use 321 stainless on turbo manifolds. -
vh series intake and exhaust manifold design...
John Dixon replied to OlderThanMe's topic in Other V8Z Tech Board
I was hoping to shoot for about 450-500bhp on mine. UK figures are never as high as US, not sure if we use different standards for the corrections? My spec is 5.0l (98mm overbore), slipper pistons, 12:1 static CR, bespoke forged rods, dry sumped with scrapers on crank, cams are 280deg at 50thou lift. Tubular 41mmID headers 1m primaries, 48mmITB's and the head is extensively gas flowed. Using an emerald M3DK ECU to run it all -
vh series intake and exhaust manifold design...

On mine when I had the headwork done I had the divider removed to further down into the head as part of the flow work so just one oval port to work with. Be great if you could get your TB's to fit, they look very nicely made -

vh series intake and exhaust manifold design...

That's my car at the top of the thread! Have both sets of throttle bodies mounted now and am starting to knock up the air box. Going to make one large box that covers both banks which will then allow me to try lengths (from the face of the body) of 15mm to about 500mm on the dyno and see what works best. The exhaust manifolds are being made at the minute, 41mm ID primaries, 4-1 on each side with 1m primary lengths, should be tuned for ~5k rpm with my setup. Will post up some pics when I have them. Attached s/s is hemholtz calc for my engine as a rough guide. -
Yes, that's right. Or for people who want a 5sp Q45 possibly!

Oops, the VH45 gearbox adaptor plate!!! Had been typing so many messages / emails about them I forgot to actually mention what they were!
-
OK, last call on these now as I need to finalise by the end of the week. All those who are in if you email me on JohnDixon300 'at' blueyonder.co.uk I'll get the details out.
-
Hi, Are you still interested in the GB on these mate? Need to finalise by the end of this week. Thanks
-
Nice one fellas, hopefully should have replies from everyone in a few days!
-
OK, Good news. Pending numbers I can now do these for £450 UK + shipping which at current exchange rate is $658US. All those in, please put your name up here and we'll get the ball rolling.

Just waiting on reply from an alternative machine shop, as I'm trying to screw the price down!
-
Called to get pricing on materials today. Engineering shop will get back to me in the next day or so. It will probably take a week or so to make them then shipping probably about a week again I'd guess. Will post up as soon as I have more.

OK, so far. 1. Mark Cookson (mtcookson HybridZ/Nico) 2. Pmpmstrb (HybridZ) CONFIRMED 3. Clifton (HybridZ) CONFIRMED 4. roastin300 (HybridZ) ?? 5. Roastin300 has a friend that will likely be buying one as well. ?? 6. ? Can all on here confirm yes / no for certain and I'll firm up prices on that basis. May have one more for someone that emailed me but not sure yet.
-
We'll get a list first and confirm numbers then I can come back with a definate price. Obviously more people = better discount and cheaper material. For what its worth I absorbed the design costs on the first 3 I've already done as the initial work was 81 hours!

Some pics and details here: http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread/170932 No problem deleting flywheel spacer. NA Tranny should work fine. I think if you fit NA flywheel too it should all work perfectly. For TT flywheel / clutch you need to space out the starter.
