  1. Anytime Chris. I will try it on the spare MAF I demo'd. If it works it will be on the Z next spring.

I promise not to glue my fingers together!

    Thanx man!

Pssst, Jerry, The MAF is made of, are you ready for this? It's...it's plastic. :P;)

Seriously though I have some glue that is a CA based glue (Cyanoacrylic) that seems to glue anything to anything, including youself to..umm yourself.

How soon do you need/want this to be done? I can bring the glue with me when I come your way next, just not sure when exactly that will be.

  2. Thanx 1 tuff z...very helpful.

    Sounds like I can .....

    Weld in a baffle...how tall?

build 2 black boxes (4x4x4") and attach to the baffle..one on each end

dual pickups, one into each BB

    Hard line to AN fittings

    Return line into one BB

May be overkill but while Im in there ....what the heck.....

All comments appreciated...I want to do this once and correctly... considering it will be sealed tight.

  3. I plan on baffling my tank this winter and was thinking of making one using the ATL trap doors. I dont plan on doing "too" much track time with the Z..........(I have a track SX to thrash:wink:) so keep in mind its not for hard core lapping sessions. I have the following questions....

Can I get away without using the secondary pump? Use the tank to baffle slosh....I also want to avoid using a top hatch and just weld the hole back up.

Why did you use flexible line for the pickup and not a solid line? Did you use their pickup?...if so do you have any comments to share?

  4. I beleve any FI fuel pump will work. Instead of buying one from the scrap bin and having to deal with the unkown just buy a Walboro or other "less costly" aftermarket unit. In the long run this may be a easier and less costly approach. Cheak your local NAPA to see what they carry.

Im afraid that I find "a good fuel pump from a junkyard" counter intuitive:confused:

    Good luck.

At this time I am on a low budget and I need to get my 76 EFI 280Z running.

I plan on going to a junkyard and finding a good fuel pump. I know I can choose (besides an S30 fuel pump) a 280ZX '79-'83 fuel pump but are there any other cars I can pull an external Electric fuel pump out of that will work on my Z.

In the future I would like to change the fuel tank to an internal fuel pump setup. Is there any setups from other vehicles that will fit without too much modifications? I did search on here but yielded no results on this so if anyone can give me some helpful advice I would certainly appreciate it.

    thanks!

  5. Does anyne know if a plastic NISSAN MAF is made of ABS? I want to modify the flange at one end by cutting it off and glueing a new section in its place. If its ABS I will use pipe glue to join the pieces.

Im trying to remove the end with the 4 bolt holes and replace it with a piece that will slip into a silicone coupler....just like the opposite end. My setup is blow through and the flat coupling plate is ugly but more importantly in the way.

    Any ideas?

  6. Wow.... never seen one! Please fire a few pics our way!:eek2:

Hi guys I'm a new member and I'm looking at buying a 1973 240Z. It does seem to have a bit of rust and the right rockers a bit busted up, but other than that it doesn't seem all too bad to me. It has a canvas sunroof on it which I've searched for and can't seem to find anything about? Is this aftermarket? Was wondering if anyone had any experiences with things like this good or bad? Thanks.
