  1. What kind of kit car?

If your considering a Locost then a common US donar car is the S10. In fact there is a site dedicated to this... www.stalkerv6.com

I plan on starting a Locost build next year and have been doing alot of research. One of the best sites is http://www.locostusa.com/forums/index.php It will give you a million ideas!

The Locost may not be as sexy as a GTM but if your careful you can buid one from scratch for less than 10K that will spank most others. Im thinking of building a hayabusa powered version but am not sure that my build talent is up to it.

  2. Thanx...but I already contacted him, he cant help.

The picture in my original post was off his auction. It saved me some time...:D

This guy on ebay sells downpipe weld flanges specifically for the Nissan T3 turbos...he probably also has gaskets if you e-mail him. I bought a downpipe flange from him and it was good quality. mailto:mc_motorsports@hotmail.com

Nissan 7-bolt T3 downpipe weld flange on Ebay

  3. Im trying to identify the Nissan part number for a gasket that would fit a NISSAN Garret T3 . Its for the 7 hole version as seen here.d7_1.JPG

I though it was a Z31 turbo but when I receved the gasket it only has 5 holes. Any idea which car its from?

The turbo cover has the waste gate installed in it rather than attached to the turbine housing.

    It driving me crazy!!!!

  4. I found 7 dried out squirrels in the top on my chimminey. It seems they would go there to stay warm and the fumes would kill them and then dry them up for future use.

On a seperate but sort of related note...yesterday while cleaning my car my son found a banana under the back seat....it must have been there a loooong time. It was dried up into a black turd like item. We had fun with mom.....:D

  5. Jason

We know each other, perhaps not really well but we do know each other. What you may not know about me is when I was a young teen I had over 2/3rd of my left kidney removed. Now Im 45 and in pretty decent health for an older guy. I lead a perfectly normal life. (haha...thats a matter of opinion)

Its always scary to have someone "go in" but look at it from the other side...when they are done you can go on leading a perfectly healthy..(er) life.

Go into this with a strong and positive attitude. Knowing what little I do know about you ......Im confident you will come out even stronger and better. All fixed up!:D

Be cool and thanx for sharing your thoughts!

  6. One can always redefine the goals......gad....I have over and over. And it had driven our race to continuous improvement.

But when I now do... its for my own benefit!

Grumpy has opened quit a can of worms!

I usually set goals to meet and know that they will not be the end goal, but it's much easier to meet those smaller goals and be happy for a while, then to never meet or take years to meet that larger goal.

  7. Im afraid not...to me.....the Ferrari sound is higher pitched and more sexy. The SBC just doesnt cut it. But perhaps its the entire package...more valves....more cams...the right crank and the best stoke bore ratio.

I guess Im asking this ....will a crank alone achive your goal?

COOL!!! Thank you for the news.. That is good to know..

At any rate, this SBC with a 180 degree header, (to my ear), came the closest to the note we are looking for of the videos I listened to.

If this one revved 1-2k more RPM… Hmmmm…..

  8. I agree......its called "Common sense"! If you do work over and over without using common sense perhaps you just stumbled on the correct answer. And you may ever undertsand why!

Some of the smartest people I have ever met couldnt apply common sense..... and believe me it held them back in life.

    Interesting, I'm the opposite.

I'll take a correect answer with no "work" to get there, since a wrong answer is still a wrong answer and a wrong answer is of no value in the real world.

What I find is that the people who can get the correct answer without the "work" can generally with a bit of help explain how they got there, if the "work" to get to the answer is as important as the answer itself.

  9. Love it...your a wise man...I consider myself a 2.33. I almost always understand whats before me but it takes me about 2-4 times to improve upon anything. A hard way to learn!

Honestly ...a great view on things. I very much appreciate this perspective!

I've come to the conclusion that intelligence breaks down essentially into 3 categories.

    1. The ability to remember. (nothing more, nothing less)

    2. The ability to understand. (some call this common sense, common it is not)

    3. The ability to use what was remembered to understand, then associate.

    Now to illustrate:

    1. Book smart, info in, info out.

    2. With no prior knowledge understand what is before you.

    3. With no prior knowledge understand what is before you and improve upon it.

    .

  10.

I not liking the idea of cutting into the cowl anymore.

    .

Thank you...Im no intake expert by any means but seeing how you weld and fabricate Im sure you could cut up he stock top half and fabricate a new front facing intake.

Do you have a pic of the inderside of tha upper intake you can share?
