Rod in NC
Not a Z-related topic, but drove by a house the other day took a couple of pics of the this car out in the backyard. It looks like a early bmw z3, but the roof configuration confused me. That is not a removal hardtop. Any ideas? This is driving me nuts, and I've been google-ing around with no luck. -Rod
jhm
Appears to be a 70's-era TVR. Very cool British sports cars that packed a punch when properly equipped. http://auto.howstuffworks.com/tvr-sports-cars.htm/printable You could probably pick that one up for a song, and you'd never have to worry about what to do with your weekends for the next three years! Leon
BMW Z3? It's probably 30 or so years older than the earliest Z3, very likely a '60s era British sports car. My first thought was Lotus Elan but that doesn't quite fit the bill. You have me curious now, looks like some searching is in order... Leon
Good call jhm! Looks like it's a TVR 2500M: Looks like it's an early '70s TVR body with TR6 drivetrain. Edited August 19, 2011 by Leon
scorpio516
The rear end makes me agree. Defiantly a M car. not a 3000m, they had Ford Essex V6's. Probably not a 1600M either, Ford Kent 1.6 in them.
Rod in NC
Thanks for the quick responses, guys. Based on the feedback, it does looks like it has the Triumph TR6 straight 6 in it that would make me think it is the 2500M as well from wikipedia info . I had never seen one of these cars before. Thanks! -Rod
