Cam Identification

There ain't no K on that list. Maybe it's an F.

mpresley, post a picture just for fun.

Yep, right where the A or C or other letter is supposed to be is a big K, very plain and not smudged or anything.

When the wifey gets home with the digital camera I will attach a pic.

The only other marks on cam shaft are 5 Japan and E30.

It was in a wrecked 1981, 280ZX, nonturbo, auto trans, 2+2.

Thanks for the help.

Huh, looks like the 'F' may either be a typo on the site or the P79 ('81-'83 NA ZX) came with an 'F' or 'K' cam. Anyone ever see a Nissan-stamped 'F' cam? It seems that a 'K' cam also came on the L24E (Maxima). You can measure the specs to be certain.

The cam specs are in the FSMs, up to 1983, but not including. The 1981 specs match the F specs on the atlanticz page. The atlanticz F should probably be a K. Or K and F are the same.

Thank you for info. I really appreciate it.

What are FSM's? factory service manuals?
