seattlejester
Curious about something I saw the other day. Hoping some gurus could help identify it, my search couldn't find any images, and my books yielded no results. Stamped with Japan E30 on the top, never seen this type before, looks to be for a 6 cylinder L-engine. Is this an old school single carb conversion? Anyone know what kind of carb it employed? Any info?
NewZed
A single two barrel carburetor was an option on the 240Zs (a smaller engine, an L20A, was apparently an option also). Your picture looks like it might be the bottom of the manifold. No mounting point for the carburetor shown.
blue72
They made a few different 2bbl downdraft manifolds for L6 engines and even a couple of 4bbl ones. They were never offered stock on any Nissan/Datsun vehicle here in the states. This kind of thing is fairly common in Japan, Australia, etc... I've got a different L6 2bbl manifold I pulled from a 280Z in a junkyard. It had been the recipient of a JDM engine swap sometime in its life. seattlejester
Thanks for the replies, not to familiar with with the japanese carbs, are they pretty easy to source? Here's another pic.
