Here's what I get distracted by every morning going to work and coming home. That's pretty much it for now, maybe I'll swap in the 240 tail lights tomorrow. '82 280zx Nothing on the body is really worth saving, I can falcon punch half the holes in the body/frame. But at 76k on the drivetrain puts my 280zx to shame at how well it runs. Decided to take one last pic before the car lost all it's dignity Here's what We're working with here folks After couple of hours of carefully removing connectors (as I'll be saving the harness and ecu and efi junk) and ripping all the hose connections it was time to rip out the goods And here's what we ended up with, a 4x4 looking 280 and a grimy but otherwise very nice L28 Gonna get this thing on an engine stand after I get some long ass bolts an clean the eff out of this thing. Got the motor on a stand in all it's grimy goodness Soaked it in some degreaser, need more tho, and gotta steam clean it to get all the tough stuff Decided to paint the valve cover purple, along with the motor when it's cleaned up. Sooo, here we go. Bout a month an a half ago I took my car to work. And it sat pretty much like this. Then, next thing you know the motor exploded out of the hood an it was like this. And here's the old an busted l28 Got a brand new exedy stage 1 clutch to be ready to drop in. And after some persuading the new motor and trans they were both in. I went to a classic car meet last month and got a lip, also put the fogs in Got an electric fuel pump to run the SU's Most of the motor back togather Got some tune up parts Then this beauty came in the mail, champion aluminum radiator I'm guessing by this time everyone is wondering, hmmm is the car running yet or what? So here's my old an busted diff strap vs techno mount S12W calipers and rotors finally on with silver mine spacers, had to grind down the calipers a bit still because the clearance was really tight. Got the wheels back on the ground with 1.25" spacer to clear the calipers with the stock wheels Since the brakes are all done for now I took it for its maiden voyage out, pretty nice so far. Got my hands on a chunky ass accel coil, no hei yet tho Next I squished my bumper shocks an put a pacesetter muffler on In the long time between paychecks I got bored and decided to draw a picture My brake booster went out on the way home so I got that rebuilt I made a heat sinc for the hei, not pretty but it'll work Got me some wheels, no tires yet, too poor lol Got a bunch of poly bushings, well, all of them actually Finally cut an welded the rear fenders , got too lazy to do the fronts, those will be another day Ok, catch your breath time, lol And now were all up to date! As if late, my rear wheel cylinders went out, weren't leaking when I checked them about a month ago. Anyways, getting those replaced when I get money.
