280Dan
I'm looking to get a magnaflow round muffler for my 2.5in exhaust. I'm going to be running it without a cat and I'm trying to figure out what size casing diameter, 4, 5, 6, or 7 inches.
BluDestiny
I got a used HKS and it has a 2.5" inlet, 4 inch tip and 7inch center body. I'm running it strait pipe from some headers, and its starting to get to me. Pics for reference size:
2blue280
I'm currently running a 2.5" exhaust straight from the header into a 4" case magnaflow muffler with a three inch dynomax tip. It sounds good at idle and higher rpm's but there is a horrible drone from 1800 to 2500 rpm.
280Dan
Yeah I would think the hks would be pretty loud. Could drone be dealt with by installing a resonator? Or do you think the drone is do to the size of the case?
2blue280
From everything I've read a resonator should solve the drone problems. I was planning on installing one but a V8 swap is now in the works so I haven't bothered to do so. Just fyi, the exhaust is also rather loud right now... but a resonator should help with that too Edited May 7, 2012 by 2blue280
