GarageRatt13
Hey guys I've been looking on the internet and I cant seem to find the right color for what I want. Im going with a Mitsubishi Zero Fighter theme but I want to do the green scheme instead of the white one. So far the only color that I have found is Hot Rod Flatz Speed Green. Oh yeah I want to do the car flat not glossy. Anyone know of another company that does a flat greeen in a similar color to the Zero?
Josh280z
I would say go to a good body shop and have them mix you up a custom color, or have fun mixing colors from a local paint shop. Edited May 3, 2012 by Josh280z
GarageRatt13
So just bring the shop a picture of a Zero and tell them to match the color but make it flat?
Josh280z
I'd say pretty much... but go to a good shop one that does custom paint and auto body repair paint matching.
GarageRatt13
Alright I know of a few shops in the area like that so i'll go check it out. Thanks.
Josh280z
Why not a gloss green? Edited May 3, 2012 by Josh280z
LanceVance
Have you tried the Mitsubishi dealership yet? Seriously though, British racing green might be a good start for mixing.
GarageRatt13
I dont want to do a gloss paint job yet and this is just a temporary paint scheme till I get the Z finished. Its an aweful brown color right now so instead of doing a really nice paint job and then get it all scratched and messed up while I work on it I want something simple that I dont really care to much about. And I think a Zero Scheme will be pretty cool and personally think it would look better flat.
Josh280z
So the zero paint job isn't permanent? Why not? It sounds like a great idea, though you might get some disgruntled vets saying differently. Also, I agree with Lance, start with British racing green.
GarageRatt13
See thats the funny thing I am a vet lol and I run vet plates so its all good. heres a pic of the scheme that I made on Forza4.
Josh280z
Looks good, so am I; I was talking about older vets. But that looks awesome, what about a white ring around like this
GarageRatt13
Cool what branch? Yeah I was thinking about the white outline but I think it'll draw to much attention away from the rest of the car. I kinda like the lighter colors and I think the white would throw it off a bit.
Josh280z
I understand, just a design question; but still a cool idea. I like the idea of painting my car the white zero scheme.
GarageRatt13
Yeah I was thinking of doing the white zero but I've seen a Z painted in a similar way so I decided to go with the green. But yeah man that would be sick!
PR280z
I like the Zero green scheme. I would`nt worry about the attention, the Z itself takes care of that!
GarageRatt13
Thanks, yeah I'm not to worried about it. I just need to get the right color sorted out and once the Z comes back from the body shop it'll be time to paint!
