R3VO 3VOM
So I'm nearing the end of my RB install and I am need of this sensor. I have an RB20 fitted with an RB26 intake; ITB's and all. My problem is that when I bought this intake, it lacked the coolant temp sensor for the ECU. The one for the gauge from my 20 fit fine in the location (the small one) but the one for the ECU (big one) is too small. I've been reading around and I've seen that ones from sr20's and ka24's fit. None of them do; they all just slide down in the hole. So my question is where can I get a sensor that fits my intake? Or do I just have some weird style RB26 intake? What happens with the sensors (they dont thread in; they just slide down as the diameter of the threads are too narrow). -Charles
RB26powered74zcar
Can you take a pic of it off the manifold so we can see the sensor? I didn't use factory 26 sensors, so I may have it but can't tell from that pic... Saw this while surfing > http://forums.gtrcanada.com/gt-r-tech/56076-bnr-32-rb26-dett-intake-air-temp-sensor.html Is this the info you already saw? R3VO 3VOM
Here are the pictures of the stock RB plug (yellow) and the one from an SR20 (that was supposed to work)(blue). I saw that information; the sensor fit for the air intake temp hole, but it does not fit on my coolant temp location. That's what makes me think my intake is weird... RB26powered74zcar
The yellow one looks like bigger threads. Are they the same?
R3VO 3VOM
The thread diameter and pitch are the exact same on both. The only difference between them is the bottom "sensor" piece. In that case, the yellow one is wider. Same style plug, but still has threads that are too small for my intake.
RB26powered74zcar
Here is what I have.
R3VO 3VOM
My intake has the diameter of what looks like the blue topped sensor but the harness has the plug of the yellow/red sensors. So I think I just have a weird RB intake.
RB26powered74zcar
Maybe you can find a adapter sleeve to use on your sensor....??
R3VO 3VOM
Yeah, that's probably what I'm going to have to do. I'm going to start searching now. Thanks for your help.
ZT-R
You could plug the manifold and drill and tap your water outlet pipe, if you cant find something that works.
