MazerRackham
My Z car does not prime the fuel lines. I have to walk over to my AFM and manually move the pot(entiometer) to trick it into pumping fuel. Was every Z car supposed to prime? What part of the wiring harness is responsible for that? OldAndyAndTheSea
The non turbo 280zs and zxs dont prime, the fuel pump runs only when the key is cranking, until the motor fires and the afm is functioning. The turbo cars have the 5 second prime. The fuel pump relay controls this action. Edited August 19, 2012 by OldAndyAndTheSea
BluDestiny
Question: has this ever affected you? My 280zx has never primed to my knowledge yet has near had an issue starting while my fuel gauge read 0psi
Zmanco
The default on megasquirt is 2 ms but a year ago I experimented with turning this off and even after sitting for a month, I don't notice any significant difference in cold start time. For my car, if there is a difference, it's less than 1 second.
MazerRackham
Cool thanks guys I really appreciate this! I figured it would affect me because there are times during cold weather when I have to get out of my car and prime the lines. It must obviously be due to a leak then! This information really helps! thanks again!
