JSM
Looking at a wrecked LS1 camaro. I've always gone with less than 1 minute but that has always been with iron block motors. Radiator has been removed.
ColtGT4g63
You can run it long enough to verify that its got good oil pressure, and doesn't make any funny noises.

Mikelly
I wouldn't personally go longer than 60 seconds... Mike
JSM
Thanks guys. I only ran it for maybe 30 seconds. He wouldnt let me pull the drive shaft in the driveway but I pulled it about 2 miles to a Walmart and pulled it there. The car was on a military base and had some rules about working on cars. They let me rip the front end off but not pull the shaft. Thought the whole thing was strang. This is what I bought for $1900. http://tampa.craigslist.org/hil/cto/3186211796.html
JSM
Oh on a side not don't trust bungee cords. I new better but did anyway. The hood flew up and killed the rest of the windshield. Good thing it was already damaged from the accident. It was quite a strange feeling when it went up. It really pulled my truck back.
wfritts911
Is that a T56 car? Cause if it is you got a really good deal. Even if its not thats not a bad price at all for an LS1 car. Should be able to make some decent money parting the rest of the car out. -Will
