Stock plastic rear quarters?

I am looking to purchase a specific 77" 280z. Went to go look at it today. Everything looks good (except two small rot holes in the floor), but i have a couple questions.

The rear quarters are both not metal. They are fiberglass or plastic. Is this stock? From what i could find on-line they were orginaly steel....

So if these are aftermarket should I be scared to purchase this Z? I know for a fact that the Z has had no body work done to it since 1981.

The rear quaters are steel. 280Z is a unibody, the inner rear fenders are welded to the outer rear fender. If that is not the caes in that car run away. There may be flares added which would probably be fiberglass. Even if the fenders were cut to add flares for wider tires the inner and outer fenders have to be rewelded to maintain that unibody. There are also some widebody kits that can be bonded over top of the steel fenders.
