Mark Clapp
Hi my name is Mark Clapp. I'm an individual and have been making plexiglass parts like headlight covers and windows for over eight years now. I make the headlight covers for G-nose Z cars. The plastic is shatter proof and will not crack. I can make them sized to fit over the headlight buckets to use the chrome trim rings or to "flush fit' with the body. I include clear L-braces to mount the covers with. From a short distance, the L-braces disappear and the covers look like they are floating on the car. I've attached pictures of some of my covers mounted with the L-braces. I'm asking $189/pair. Feel free to give me a call at: 816-286-6982 or email me at: mclapp5526(at)gmail(dot)com. Thanks, Mark Clapp Edited December 19, 2015 by Mark Clapp

pecx
I'm interesting. Will it fit original chrome trim?
Mark Clapp
Hi Pecx, they will fit with the original chrome trim rings. I make them a little oversized so you can trim them to your individual trim rings/car since they can vary some. The plastic trims easily with sanding or whatever finishing tools you normally use. Also you do not need special drill bits for plastic like you do for acrylic. Any old bit will do fine with no cracking. Mark Clapp
Hi Guys, a few have asked so I thought I'd post that I can make headlight cover pairs in a day or so and I use Fedex ground for shipping, which only takes 2-3 days to anywhere in the U.S. I'm asking $189/pair and $20 should cover the shipping. If anyone would like a pair, you can send a money order to: 2501 SW Samuel Lane Lees Summit, MO 64081 or I can take Paypal at: mclapp5526@gmail.com if that works better for you. Thanks, Mark Clapp Edited December 19, 2015 by Mark Clapp
Tony D
Too bad I've already swung down to Houston... Going through St Louis the way I normally do would run me right by!
Mark Clapp
Hi Tony, that is too bad as we are not far from I70. Let me know next time and we can meet up for some dinner and beers. Mark C.
Mdantonio
Marc, Do you have molds for the lenses for the 240/260/280 stock headlight buckets/covers?
Mark Clapp
Hi Mdantonio, sorry but I currently do not make headlight covers for the standard Z cars. I tried but due to the shape I think they need to be vacuum formed, which I'm not set up to do right now. Mark Clapp
Hi G-Nosers, let me help you take your car up a level for this year's show and cruise night season with a pair of headlight covers. I've delivered dozens of sets with no complaints so far. I make them to either use with or without the trim rings. They can be drilled with any old bit since the plastic can not be cracked. I'm still asking $189/pair and shipping is covered with $20. twofouroh
Hi, what plastic do you use for these? You said plexiglass, but later you said they aren't acrylic. Plexiglass is acrylic. Thanks Scott Edited May 5, 2013 by twofouroh
Mark Clapp
Hi Scott, the plastic I use is PETG. I just use plexi or plexiglass as a generic term by habit. PETG can not be cracked and as you probably know acrylic will crack in a strong wind much less take a rock or road debris. PETG is between acrylic and lexan and is much clearer and more flexible than both. It is more scratch resistant than even hard-coated lexan but costs 1/4 the price, which is how I can offer the parts affordably. I keep checking with plastics suppliers and they all say it is the best material for these applications. Thanks, Mark Clapp

Mark Clapp
Hi Guys and Gals. Its been a while so I just wanted to say I'm still making the light covers for G-nose Z cars. Since the trim rings are hard to get, I make the covers sized to "flush fit" with the edges of the light buckets. I also make them in OE size to fit over the light buckets if you have the trim rings. I'm still asking $189/pair. Feel free to give me a call anytime at: 816-286-6982 or email me at: mclapp5526@gmail.com if you have any questions. wasey
I most likely will be buying a set of these in the future, but was curious now if you had any plans to make the hatch, door, or quarter window glass in this material?
