zgeezer
Is anyone out there considering a new Chevy Vortec I-6 (FI, 4 valve, dual OHC) swap? Any information on pan/valve cover depth or clearance under 240Z hood?
Guest Anonymous
You might try a search in the archives here for it. Not sure what to suggest for search words, but there was a pretty long discussion about it including some pictures of it from a autoshow. fl327
i like that motor a lot, but the costs outrule it.
Mike C
I like that motor as well, but cost and availability are both negatives at this time. Also, it is only available with automatic trannys, correct? I don't know what bellhousing might bolt to it and it might have to be disassembled to machine the crank for a pilot bushing. (I would want a manual trans behind it.)
fl327
i think the t56 would work, hopefully it will bolt up....
KAZU
As you can see, the intake is located on the head of this tall engine and the oil pan cannot be clear the rack and pinion of the early z. Kazu
