Ok, guys....used to have a 280 for 12 years when I was in the service......got the bug again so just picked up a 77 with 4 speed...basic stock engine reubild done 5 years ago with 2,000 miles since....68000 mile car.......I like the sound of an idling cam and to cruise town in the 2200 rpm range for nice resonance....ill never be a racer --- mid 40's guy but mostly want the pretty sound.... also bought an old 240 and it has a header that has two sets of long tube 3 pipes each going into a separate collector and can continue as duals.....it has an e31 head could/hould I consider using it?....I mostly would like to since the car was one of the first 13000 ever made.....Any Thoughts  greatly appreciated ! ....retired submariner

So if I understand this is going into the 280z, and the 240z is a parts car correct?

The 280z efi will not be happy with a too big of a cam, so that is your biggest limitation. Now if you go with carbs you can definitely get the sound you want.

You're on the wrong site.  We're not about pretty sound or cruising.
