trackzpeed
I believe the difference in height between a 240 and 280 rear insulator is 3/4 inch. Can anyone confirm?

NewZed
Where did you get 3/4"?
z240
Its closer to 1". Do you need an exact measurement?
str8pipez
It's about 1".
trackzpeed
No exact but very close. I'm using the height diff to help calculate the amount of coils to cut from my rear moog springs. Thanks for the info. This is my 5th 240z but I have been playing with some others cars over the past eight years and the 3/4 inch came from some distant recall. Lol. trackzpeed
Well I jumped in with both feet...... After swapping out the front struts and springs with kyb's (only strut available for now) and AZC springs 10.5 free length at 180lbs the ride height was pretty much right on the money with stock. So with Jon's math (fac's page) I cut Down the moog springs to 11.5 free length (total of 2 coils removed). In addition, Dave at AZC said you could run the front springs in the rear of a 240 with a 280 isolator in order to get the proper height (another argument for 11.5 number, 10.5 plus 1" for 280 isolator). The only catch is now that I removed 2 coils the spring rate will go up from 197 to 220 +\- which will ultimate affect the sag/ride height...... So in the end I may have to cut a bit more out of the rears. Unfortunately, when I pulled apart the right rear for the swap I discoverd the stub axlet nut was sheared off delaying the project as a whole. I got the left side back together but can't put the car on the ground until I get the parts to finish the right..... Damn! Anybody have a 240 stub axle they want to sell? Hope to have some pics up soon and a complete right up for anyone else interested in the set up. Thanks. Jim
trackzpeed
Well car is back together with a stock ride height front and rear using AZC fronts and moogs with 2 cut coils. With +4 16X8 rotas and 225 50 16 RS3's I have good suspension clearance and no fender rub. Pics coming soon, phone is busted and can't find my camera.
