Ideas/tips for cleaner looking clamps

Recommended Posts

I've always liked using beverage clamps (used on CO2 systems for fountain soda), as they look a little cleaner. I'm sure there's another name for them, but that's how I discovered them. The only down side is that they aren't easy to remove and a pain to install without the right tool.

ABA clamps made by Norma are also a little cleaner than traditional clamps. They have a beveled edge so they don't cut into the hose, and the serrations don't go all the way through the band. They're still the same basic look though.

Relocate your tee fitting to underneath the coil cover? BTW- I never considered venting the steam vents to the heater lines-good thinking! Did you tee into the heater supply line or the return line?

Easy = good

Put them under the coil covers and be done with it!

^^^ That area is tight and the room is occupied by the heater two hoses plus cutting the cover . Yes the vent tube is purged to the return on the w/pump.  :icon12:

There's also heat shrink clamps. Only problem is if one happens to fail on the road you can't change it out easily.

Not very serviceable, but in some cases that's not that big a deal.  The main question becomes whether you think you'll need to take that joint apart for any foreseeable service, or can you just treat the whole thing as one assembly during service.
