A t-5 has crappy gear ratio spread and doesnt shift that smooth.I had a 83 na trans behind my turbo l28.I had a bellhousing laying around for a world class mustang t-5 conversion but i never got around to it. madkaw Posted November 7, 2013 Share Posted November 7, 2013 I'm not going say it's worth it to put in a t-5 to replace a zx trans , but saying the t-5 shifts lousy - I don't agree. With an after market shifter it has excellent shifting qualities. For racing the ratio spread is not good, but for street fun, it's fine if not good. I do like the N/A ratio better though. There's not much of a difference between the two. Grab which ones cheap.
