alexx933
I'm looking for a wooden steering wheel from an early 240 to swap into my '77 280. So long as the wooden wheel itself is in decent condition. I can always repaint the spokes.
PLATA
Plenty on Ebay, from original Z's refurbished to OK condition , plus old school type after market , the old school racer look of a wood steering wheel IMO looks good on a Z, here is mine >>>> Edited November 7, 2013 by PLATA
alexx933
In this case, I prefer the look of the original wheel without the adapter and the shiny look. I know, I know. HYBRID Z lol Just my personal preference. Though those do look good too!
z240
Have you driven a Z with that early wood (ish) wheel? The look is perfect, but many, myself included, do not like the feel of the skinny rim in my hands when driving, especially when driving with "spirited intent". The diameter also is a bit large as they say compared to 280's and feels "too big". Just something to consider.
alexx933
I haven't used an early wood wheel yet. I'd be interested to know the diameter of the wheel in order to compare to my own. As for the thickness, I have lady hands! It helps to reach those hard to work on spots but I also don't feel the need for a thick wheel. I appreciate the suggestions though.
