tooquick260
Have a 82 distributor. The picture is of the harness coming from the distributor after the 4 plug connector. So in the grey shielded cover are Green with white tracer, Black, Black with white tracer, Solid Green. Outside the shielded cover is a yellow and a white. Only thing in the fsm is about a white and the yellow that is suppose to go to thermal switches. But those are in a different wire harness. I would assume that the Black w/white tracer is power if so what voltage? 12v or a reduced voltage? Black ground. Leaves the green w/white tracer and solid green. One is the hal optical sensor. Any help appreciated.
ctc
82 Turbo? You didn't specify. There are two optical sensors. cgsheen has a good write up posted on here with the wiring. I don't have the link handy. Google search on turbo distributor wiring to pull up what you seek.

cgsheen
Just looked at the spare harness - Yellow is temp sender, White is thermotime switch. The 4 shielded wires are CAS. You're correct, Black/White is IGN ON +12V, Black is GND, the greens are signal from the optical sensor - one is the one degree signal, the other is the 60 degree signal. Don't know which is which yet - I'll have to cut the harness wrap to find out...
