FowlerMotorsports
Has anyone done a comparison of the two? The Z Store mounts look quite different than the JTR kit and was wondering how the two compared.

Miles
Administrators note: I am using hybridz.org.prx2.unblocksit.es to post this. I have used the MSA mounts on two builds. The MSA kit does not mount the engine as low or as close to the firewall as the JTR kit. But it is close enough. The JTR transmission mount is a flat bar that bolts to the bottom of the floor pans. The MSA transmission mount is shaped lke a triangle goes up inside the driveshaft tunnel. The advantage of the MSA transmission mount is that you can bolt it to the transmission and then move it several inches up/down inside the tunnel while setting the driveshaft angle. Once the optimum angle is found you bolt the trans mount in place. Do more searching as I wrote the MSA install up several times. z ya
About how much higher is the engine mounted vs the JTR? You can also run a mechanical fuel pump as well correct?
YoSammyT
The MSA mounts are what I chose this time and I'm using my stock hood on a 1978 280Z. The transmission mount is better on the MSA kit for sure. Unfortunately, you cannot use a mechanical fuel pump. However, if it's a fuel injected z car the wiring is already ran for you. There is a ton of room with this kit... http://forums.hybridz.org/gallery/image/29108-20140811-205407/ Edited August 12, 2014 by YoSammyT
