Hypertek
I proceeded to remove the housings from the front end, and broke the studs that mount it to the corner valance. I tried soaking them at first with a penetrating spray but obviously 40+years have been hard on them studs. I need to replace the passenger side lens anyways, in which I see blackdragon sells them for a good price. But are those studs replaceable? socorob
One of te pairs I have have broken studs. I was thinking drilling it out and epoxying in stainless carriage bolts in place.
seattlejester
^ I believe that would work. If you wanted a more stock look, you could potentially melt the plastic and try and secure another stud in there. On housing with the rusted/broken stud, I drilled out both and sealed the entire surface of the housing using RTV and put it under compression for a few hours. I had grass growing in mine, so I decided fully sealed may be preferable.
