72Hako
Im building an F54 block and my application requires the oil pick up and dip stick to be relocated to the front. I've already drilled the front oil pick up port as well as the boss for relocating the dip stick tube. The (now drilled) forward boss for the dip stick tube runs directly through the main oil galley. How do you seal this off to prevent loss of oil suction/pressure during operation?
ctc
Using a long drift, install a plug in the main galley between the dipstick hole and the new pickup location. On a factory front sump block, the main galley was not drilled as deep as the pad for the dip stick.
Xnke
Bore the oil galley larger diameter to the front sump pickup, drive plug into old galley. Bonus, new pick up galley is larger diameter.
Tony D
Plug the pickup in the rear with a flush-seal plug. Plug the gallery at the front cover with a flush-seal plug. Put the external pickup kit on the engine and see a large increase in flow from the setup.
