AZGhost623
Anyone ever seen something like this? Its off a 48/45 DCOE Weber on a race build 3.1L setup. Was this an OEM part or something custom fabricated after the fact? Any known history?
Tony D
Off road racers used those. You can find them on buggies running 44IDF's I forget...something about the amplification signal provided by the booster and when it takes effect. "Shift, Ctrl, Arrow Up, up, up..." AZGhost623
I've seen the Porsche venturis with the longer stem, and found history on those pretty quickly but never seen a setup on DCOE's before. Asked around a bit, and this was something that was completely custom made, not an off the shelf oem part. Looking at the nozzle, it looks like its pinched in a bit and flarred out at the end like a rocket nozzle... wonder if it had the same effect Cool vintage stuff either way.... Tony D
Likely someone with Porsche (er...VW...) knowledge was applying that to these in an effort to achieve the same thing. When you can't buy it...you MAKE it!
johnc
From the expert in our shop... When Venturi size is close to the bore size in the carb you lose signal/sensitivity across the mains. These extended nozzles increase the signal/sensitivity and make the carb more tunable.
Tony D
"something about the amplification signal provided by the booster" I thought that was what I said....
