AZGhost623
This may seem stupid, but I cant figure out which way the weather strip installs. If I install the door weather strip with the 'puffy' side out towards the door (which I assume is correct) the door doesnt close all the way. If I install it with the 'puffy' side in towards the inside of the, it has a bit of gap around the door and doesnt look right. What am I doing wrong? NewZed
Get the Kia Sportage weatherstrip. The repro stuff tends to be too thick, according to numerous reports around the web.
Miles
More info is required to answer your question: What brand of weatherstrip are you using? Is it after market such as the Precision kit that MSA and others sell or is it parts store brand? If it is made for your specific Z there should be a 90 deg corner that only goes in one way and the bulb part faces the door. If you have one of the Precision kit door seals, there is an old and well documented problem (search) with the door seals being too thick. There is a recent discussion on door seals in the 240Z, 260Z, 280Z forum. Check it out.

NewZed
There are threads out there. Late 90's I believe, but I would find a thread and confirm first. Just search "Kia sportage 240z weatherstrip" and something will pop up.

branman1229
Get kia sportage front door seals. Just got mine from the junk yard from a 2002 4 door sportage. All you gotta do is measure and cut about a foot off after measuring the correct length.
AZGhost623
ordered a pair on kiapartsoverstock.com... ill give it a try and see how it goes. I thought after a while the compression would help smash the weatherstrip down, but its not helping at all....
AZGhost623
Well Ill be damned... they fit surprisingly well! Other than the about a foot you have to trim off, and the toupe color (inside of seal) its a super fit! Strange how overly excited I am about this lol... its the little things Part numbers I purchased from kia was 82110-1F000EZ and 82120-1F000EZ $81.78 for parts ($40.89ea), $16.95 for shipping. $98.73 total. DaneZ
I ordered a set from Quirk auto parts. They are supposed to be black in color. Part number is the same except, instead of ending in EZ the black ones end in WK. Fingers crossed that I get them in black.
