SubaruBRZ
I apologize if this is a common thread, but I checked the FAQs but couldn't find an answer.I just purchased a 260z, and it runs and drives just fine. The door and hatch locks however are very finnicky. I can play around with the door locks and get them to do their job, but I cannot lock the rear hatch even after using graphite lube. Does anyone have experience dealing with this? Thank you for your help gentlemen. Edited November 16, 2014 by SubaruBRZ
NewZed
There's not much to the hatch lock. I think it just rotates a metal piece over that blocks the plunger from moving. Could be that someone swapped hatches or locks in the past. You probably have the wrong key.
bfg
It's very possible the hatch lock was switched and you may have not gotten the key for it. It's also possible parts may have just worn out. I know the wafers (key pins) on my lock were on the verge of locking up permanently. You could probably remove the lock and have a lock smith take a look at it. Miles
Wrong key, but if you wiggle it the lock turns. Yes, no? Adjustment Lock is broken
