Hypertek
Ok It didnt dawn upon me of what i had.. but i bought some generic SS lines for the stock brakes a few months back.. never got around to installing them.. since than, i purchased a s12w front brake swap (2nd hand, couldnt pass the deal) and pieced together the rear disc swap components. Im trying to figure what brake lines to run with this new setup. Any suggestions? I see all the brake swap kits come with brake lines, but no single listing of just selling the lines themselves.. I suspect they could be ordered from another car?
nullbound
Silver Mine sells them separately: http://www.silverminemotors.com/datsun/datsun-240z/brake-kit-individual-parts/steel-braided-lines

Hypertek
Thanks for the replies.. Im trying to understand what Im looking at.. maybe its just late lol. But basically running -3 an fitting hoses, with associated adapters to fit into the caliper and hard line? A friend suggested a local hose shop, i may see what they can do. The silvermine hoses look decent.. a bit pricier than what i wanted to spend when buying 2 pairs, but i suppose there wont be any "homework" id need to do on my part. Miles
You don't need a hose shop. You can get all of the fittings from Summit, Jegs, Russell, Earles or you local speed shop. You will need to plan and measure for the hose length and be sure to verify that the hose clears all components and does not rub on anything by moving the suspension up and down. Hypertek
ok i take it the end that connects to the chassis hard line is 10mm-1.0 female, and both the toyota and maxima calipers require 10mm-1.0 Male plus crush washer (besides originally using banjo fittings) ? I should be good with Earl's speed flex lines since they offer 10mm-1.0 female/10mm-1 male lines, just gotta get the length right Just trying to avoid the use of adapters, but i suppose those are fine too for the -3 an hoses Edit: Im also thinking brake lines for the 240sx may also work. Miles
For the Maxima calipers you should be able to find SS lines with a 10mm banjo on one end and a 10mm x 1.0 inverted flare end that connects to the hard line on the body. MSA sells a Maxima kit that uses SS lines with banjo fittings. Call MSA and ask if they sell the lines for the Maxima kit. Or you can use -3 adaptors on both ends. For the front you will need a -3 to 10mm x 1.0 inverted flare adaptor on the caliper and a SS line that has a 10mm x 1.0 inverted flare end to connect to the hard line on the body or you can use a -3 to 10mm x 1.0 inverted flare adaptor for the hard line connection. Recommend that you research this brake swap before ripping your brake system apart. This brake combination is not balanced and you will need to install either a 15/16 or 1 inch master cylinder for adequate fluid volume. The Maxima calipers are not well mached to the Toyota calipers resulting in too much front bias (search). Many people regret this swap. This has been documented extensively in the brake section and FAQs. Suggest that you rebuild the stock brakes, install SS lines and keep the brakes maintained.
