Boog
Hey everyone, would like to make sure my deglaze looks good before I continue with reassembly. I used a flex-hone for about a minute on each cylinder, pretty fast up and down strokes. Tried to keep the drill under control for the most part. Tony D
Bore mic to what diameter now?
Boog
My gauge isn't great but its reading about 86.1-86.2mm? Before deglazing there was no noticeable cylinder wear.
Tony D
I considered adding "against a spec of what"--if your diameter is good per piston and ring specs, then you look good as long as they are found and not tapered top to bottom, etc.
Boog
Terrific. They are consistent top to bottom, and I am doing rings tomorrow. Thanks for the evaluation, haha. Edited January 4, 2015 by Boog
Xnke
Usually only takes a few strokes up and down...five or six. Are you re-using pistons? Mic your pistons and then your bores....make sure they are still in spec. If you used a flex-hone, they cut fast and you could be oversize if you ran the hone for a full minute... Boog
Thanks for the info. As for run time, I guess I meant I spent about a minute on each cylinder. I probably only got about 25 strokes in.
Tony D
That's what I was getting at ... That's a link time with a flex hone. As long as the bores measure out properly all is good.
