z-ya
Maybe you should be asking "which sway bar?" Or maybe it is time for new motor mounts?
NewZed
I would use a 280ZX oil pan.
Oil pan
I thought there was only one style of factory motor mounts from 70 to 83? I have three more oil pans that look just like the one I have on there. I have found a different style that would fit, but I want to make sure I need to buy it before I spend the money. I'm calling the bar that runs from wheel to wheel and is connected to the steering arm, a sway bar? The sway bar is already pretty close to the frame. I think I'm going to have to buy the oil pan with the sump located farther back so it will clear the sway bar. Any thoughts?
tamo3
I thought 280zx and 280z are different. http://www.zcarsource.com/oil-pan-plugs-240z-260z-280z-280zx-300zx_8_55208.html
Oil pan
I think there are two different kinds and I need the one with the sump farther back. I have three with the sump located just behind the middle of the pan. I will sell some oil pans if anyone is interested.
Oil pan
The pan I need to buy is $165. If you google 280zx oil pans and click images you can see the oil pans I'm referring to. I would post the two pictures but I havnt figured out how yet.

SRRTz
Second one. The first is for a 240, 260, or 280z.

Project1
I just had to make the same decision. I went for the ZX na oil pan. Works great, but you need to change the pick up/sump as well as the pan. The ZX pick is longer because the drop in the oil pan is farther back. Edit: disregard the abuse to the pans, their a little beat up. It's how my z rolls .... Or ..well..
