WHY CONVERT MINE WHEN I CAN GIT ONE FOR 500 dollars

i was guna put a 350 in my 280zx but my friend has a 73 240z with a chevy 350 in it and he only wants 500 for it im not shure on much about it but i know it runs and i know it has a lot of rust some where all though i havent investagated it yet what you think guys

If you got $500 to throw around, go for it!

Half a big one might sound like a lot at first, but if the conversion is done correctly. it will provide tons of answers to questions you would have othwise painstakingly found out about.

 

Also, items like the motors mounts and radiator mounts that would cost a few dollars have already been taken care of. And besides, any running small block is worth at least a few hundred dollars. Couple that to a working transmission, and there's the return on your $500 investment. I expect the car will be totally shot. Oh well, there's plenty other Z cars out there that need a small block.

 

...Now comes the next question, you got room for all these cars? I thought so myself, but my neighbor said otherwise

Well, too much rust can definately cause a 240 to be worthless.

 

BUT, as others have stated, for $500 you're getting alot of stuff - even if you just consider the thing a parts car.

 

Plus, after looking at Tim's site with the rotisserie and the work on the floors and rails - very inspiring. Kinda almost makes me wish I had another 240 to "do right", ya know?

 

I'd buy it. I'd have to wait for my wife to go out of town or something though

for 500.00 , and it starts, jump on it!

get it running semi decent, and drive it like you stole it! this car does not have to be the big project car if you dont want to be, and if its rusty definitely not, but think of this,

this car will have everything converted already and can be used as a template for the next body, which you can get cheap since you dont really need a drivetrain. either way, you win, and cant lose! i say buy it.

If it's not totally shot, buy it! A V8Z that runs is fun, even though it may look ugly; but for $500, what do you expect?
