Hypertek
Hey guys, i just wanted an opinion on my mounting location. I cut the original pump bracket (early 260z), and mounted the pump here for now, but was just curious on the fuel hose routing.. if it was ok to have the hose wrap around that far out towards the wheel. Or should I try to mount it more towards the center? Suggestions and advice appreciated. Thanks!
lester
I actually just set mine up the same way a few weeks ago and am curious to see what other say. My z is a 75 and I believe the bracket is a bit different as my pump sits up a bit higher.
88dangerdan
My .02, location is fine. But I'd put a 90° on the inlet side if possible. I'm not to familiar with that peticular pump if it will allow you to change connection.
beermanpete
We have a Holley fuel pump mounted the same way in our '73. It works fine.
Hypertek
found this pic online, i guess i can put a 90 degree elbow on it just to give me more piece of mine lol http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l62/injected99/FuelPump.jpg I was just unsure weather the 90 degree bend would affect flow as opposed to a curving hose. 88dangerdan
With the 90°being on the inlet /suction side and it being such a short run. I would think it wouldn't cause any problems with restricting the flow.
BluDestiny
+1 on the 90. It's like a $5 part and will solve any issue you may think you'll have with the hose binding, kinking, or getting torn up.
Hypertek
Im wondering where I can find that 90 degree fitting locally. Would prefer not going with a hardware store part with the multiple barb grips .
