While replacing shock insert with proper KYB replacement ths gland nut doesn't fully seat. it only screws down to about 1/8th of full seating .Is this normal and OK . NewZed Posted August 2, 2015 Share Posted August 2, 2015 The gland nut "seats" on the top of the shock body, inside the strut tube. It does not seat on the outer tube. jhm Posted August 7, 2015 Share Posted August 7, 2015 Hey GTO, not sure if your question was fully understood/answered....as it may have been interpreted multiple ways by HBZ members. Are you saying that only 1/8 of the gland nut thread is engaged when the nut is fully tightened, or are you saying that there's 1/8" of threads exposed when the nut is fully tightened? The OEM gland nut was tight to the tube with no exposed threads.It was this diff. that prompted my question.
