2tonebb6 Posted October 26, 2015 Share Posted October 26, 2015 (edited) So while attempting to get my 260 running I managed to flood the engine. Upon removal of cylinder #3 spark plug I noticed something on top of the piston. Using a borescope I could see what looked like chunks of dirt and fuel scattered across the piston head. I used a small pick to remove as much of the material as possible and cant identify what it is. It smells a bit like oil but has the consistency of wet dirt. Using a magnifying glass I'm able to see clear copper colored crystals in the brown substance. I had the engine running about 8 months ago and I don't recall seeing this substance inside the bore. BluDestiny Posted October 26, 2015 Share Posted October 26, 2015 I've seen that in junkyard enignes that have been exposed, like with a sparkplug missing or the intake/exhaust off. put some seafoam in there, let it sit, and just turn the engine over with the starter and it'll shoot right out.
