01vincer6
I have found alot of mixed information probably due to the different wiring colors per year.I need to know what wire goes where from the ignition 6 pin connector. I have from the switch 5 wires on the connector. Black/Yellow, Black/White, Green/White, White/Red, Blue/Red. My new Fuse panel requires a (Coil) IGN wire,(Ignition switch Accessory) ACC, (Ignition Power) Bat. I believe the Black/Yellow goes to the Ignition (Coil) wire and the Black/White goes to the (ignition power) Battery wire. Does the Blue/Red and White/Red go to the (ignition switch Accessory) ACC? Also does there need to be a relay between the ignition power and the fuse panel?
NewZed
Post some links to the information you've seen. Otherwise you'll get in to one of those "already saw that" loops. Might help to describe your new fuse panel and what you've done to the car also.

Jegs 20 circuit is what I am using. 555-10405.pdf This car has a zz383 with carburetor. Using MSD ignition box and blaster coil..
NewZed
This one is close except for Green/Blue instead of Green/White. http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/wiringdiagrams/240z/1970_240z.gif
01vincer6
That one added more confusion lol.

NewZed
There's always the old fashioned way - turn the key to a spot and measure continuity though the switch. Why rely on wire colors when you don't have to?
01vincer6
Just figured many others have done this and had a simple answer. I didnt think you needed to add a resistor to the green white and an accessory relay. Edited November 15, 2015 by 01vincer6
NewZed
The resistor is for the 6 volt ignition system. It's the ballast resistor before the coil. If you're not using the stock 240Z coil then you probably don't need the resistor. The answer will only be simple if your stuff matches someone else's exactly. Otherwise, you'll have to post a picture or description of all of your parts and let someone tell you how to connect everything.
01vincer6
I think I have everything figured out. Reading old schematics while hungover is not the easiest thing to do. The Black Yellow I will test continuity to see its purpose.
cgsheen
Black/Yellow is the "start signal"... It goes to the starter solenoid. If it's an auto trans it goes through an interlock first, then to the solenoid.
01vincer6
Thanks cgsheen. I ran the black yellow to a relay then to the starter solenoid. Started up without a problem. I will post the final wiring layout for anyone wanting to use this new jegs 20 circuit with an msd ignition when I get finished.
