Well, last night I just got raped by an integra. So now I have both the funds and motivation to upgrade. I want to put a t3/t4 in and I was wondering if there were any modifications that needed to be made or if it just bolts right in. I was also planing on throwing on a boost controller and intercooler. I have done a search to see if there were modifications that needed to be done and I couldn't find a thred that answered my question. Please tell me if I am missing any thing to handle the boost. THANX ~ Cam

A hybrid is a straight bolt on if you use the T04B compressor housing. Depending on what T04E housing you use, you may have to get a spacer to give you clearance between the compressor housing and the exhaust manifold. I am pretty sure the 50 AR T04E fits without modification.

You need to decide on whether the thing is going to be internally wastegated or externally. For simplicity' sake, I would go internal.

I would run the .63 AR turbine housing with a stage III turbine wheel, and choose the compressor based upon HP requirements. With the E, I think the 50 trim is a good wheel, or run the 60 trim. I don't think there is much difference between the one's in between those two.

If you are going to use a B housing, the V trim is a very good wheel, or the 60-1, or the H3. The E housings and wheels are a little more efficient than the B, so I would try to run an E.

You will have to send in your turbo if you want to use your downpipe, or you can get one out right and build you own 3 inch set-up. You need to run a 3 inch set-up for exhaust, and it should be mandrel bent.

There is a post out there about boost controllers, so I would recommend you check there for boost control info.

Good luck.

If you want to hold off on the turbo upgrade, you could install the intercooler frst and start turning up the boost. A fellow HybridZ'er got down into the 12's w/ the stock turbo. When you do get an intercooler, make sure you get a GOOD one4 the first time that'll handle your future upgrades. Believe me, there will be more tongue.gif

Zgad is totally right. Dollar for dollar, buying a good intercooler and just crankin up the T3 you have is the way to go. Then get yourself bigger injectors around the same time you get a bigger turbo, those mods go hand in hand.

Unless that integra has (seriously) thousands into the engine, you will beat it with your turbo and a great intercooler. Bring on the boost.

cam,

I defer to the turbo guys to answer that specific question. However, you were posting about swapping a VG30 into a 240 just last month? Do you already have a turbo motor in the car,(what kind of car - you were also looking for a zx turbo)? It may be a stupid question on my part, but it makes a big difference in the answer.

Thanx for the replies. Bob, I have bought a 280zxt and sold the 240z and the engine to a friend of mine because It was too much for me to undertake. Along the lines of the intercooler and boost controller could you enlighten me on which ones are the best? Thanx again! hail.gif

Cam, you got beat by a Honda? We got to do something about this...quick! True a intercooler is gonna let you boost more and people have run 12's on a stock turbo. But that is pushin it a bit. A stock T3 turbo flows 300cfm at 18psi add a intercooler your gonna have a loss in efficiency making that 300CFM less. It isn't all about the boost its about the volume, VOLUME, VOLUME VOLUME! Kick that up a bit add some fuel sure a intercooler is gonna let you run more boost and pump up the timing so get all this done and NEVER EVER GET BEAT BY A HONDA AGAIN!

P.S todays special for all those beaten by a damn Honda $550.00 with rebuildable core on T3/T4B.
