SleeperZ
Aeromotive 13301 This can regulate from 20-65 psi with the high pressure spring, and has common 3/8" NPT ports so I can use cheap 5/16" hose barbs. I also need some adjustability below 35 psi, as my scheme for using bigger injectors on a Z31 ECU will need to be tuned using fuel pressure. This is because the MAF curve is not adjustable like the 280ZX flapper.
Len
Looked in Summit all they had was Aermotive 13101 (which I feared wouldn't reduce base pressure enough). Looked in Jegs; they had the #13301 for $109.99 (real good price). Once I get my Z operational with the new mods. If I can't adjust AFM enough. That AFPR 13301 would be a good next step. AEM has about same lower base pressure adjustability as #13301. Except at a $170 + pricetag don't think so(I don't know if advantage they list of different orfices would be worth the x tra buck either.). If you buy it let us know how it works out. BTW must of come out within last year. I didn't notice it, until you mentioned it!
SleeperZ
Yes, I've been looking at the AEM universal unit as well, but $175+ is a ricer price
Bernardd
Seeing as you're going to mess with the fuel pressure here's an idea. Connect dvm to o2 sensor and a fuel pressure guage to fuel line. Squeeze return fuel line while keeping an eye on o2 voltage. Record fuel pressure at point the ecu can no longer take out fuel or starts to run rich. Do the math to tell what cc's your injectors were flowing at the recorded pressure. This should tell you what the max injector size is for the ecu. Now you only have to reduce pressure to get max injector size to flow approx 260 cc's. Does that make sense? Ecu would have to be closed loop and engine fully warm? to do this. Just an idea. Len
Nathan I'm going to order one tomarrow. My Z is running pig rich and heck I've thought about it long enough! In fact I've been planning to buy an fpr ever since I installed those 370 injectors. I waited to see if better exaust, larger TB,I/C would help. It did but I really want to see if I can lean her out a bit at normal operation and still keep the increase fuel at wot.
D83ZXT
Len! I thought you already did the FPR Donna
Len
See how long I've been thinking about it . I wanted to see how my car ran after I did all the modifications. Finally finished the mods last week (been a long time w/o my Z). Runs great but rich! So now is the time to buy!!!!!!Chargeeeeeee it!!!!!!!
