280z-racer
for an L28ET can you use the MAF sensor from a non-turbo Z31?? also can you use the ECU or do they have to be from a turbo Z31??
SleeperZ
I'm pretty sure the Z31 MAFs are all the same. You don't HAVE to use a turbo ECU, but the ignition curve should be more suited to a forced induction setup. I use a turbo ECU, I've heard of others using the N/A ECU just because they are more common.
J Taylor
The mass airs have like 3 different part numbers from 84-89 but they are all the same, turbo and non. JT

SleeperZ
what do i need to do the upgrade?? do i need to cut any wires, or is it plug-n-play?? That all depends on how far you want to go and how much of the Z31 stuff you have. I fully wired a Z31 ECU into my 280ZXT harness, after a long study of the wiring diagrams. I am using the Z31 ignition, and I rewired my fuel pump and relay to be properly controlled by the ECU. Some folks have not gone so far, and get good results without much rewiring. If you have no heart for wiring, don't do it. I know a local guy, he posts here occasionally, who has tried and failed. But several folks have been successful. But it NOT plug and play.
