Guest polarity
I saw someone had put dual coil packs in their car to replace the distributer (still with the inline 6 engine).. any ideas what all was involved in this? Any pros/cons to doing this conversion Billy
Mudge
To replace the distributor? Coils dont replace distributors, and very often the most serious mods for aftermarket computer setups may require modding a distributor or using a crank trigger setup, but I dont know that I've seen a setup without a distributor of some kind yet. Pop N Wood
Electromotive is just one example of a coil pack you can use to replace your distributor http://www.electromotive-inc.com/products/hpx.html

Any pros/cons to doing this conversion Billy Basically you need an aftermarket EFI computer that supports coil packs (ie: a separate ignition signal per cylinder or cylinder pair). For an inline 6, the most common setup is a triple coil pack, where two cylinders fire at once, one on the power stroke, the other on the exhaust (wasted spark).
