Help with holley dp 650

maybe someone can help me on this one, i've been told that the newer dp holleys have powervalve blow out protection, how do i know that my model is the newer one?

 

another thing, is it true if the car back fires then that means the powervalve is blown?

Only occassionally will a powervalve blow on a backfire. Usually old age failure is more common. The cure is a ball bearing in the PV passage that seals off under a backfire. Do a google search for how to mod a Holley for PV protection and you should find it.

Ron, I've been trying to get a hold of you but I haven't bothered to leave a message :oops: If it's no trouble I'd like to try and swap your carb on mine, you have a 750 dp isn't that right? Maybe you can help me with my misfiring problems as well :? How bout friday after 2pm?
