Mudge
Looking at the Haynes, the 82 turbo diz looks the same as the 84-88 unit, other than the firing order being different, does anyone know if the unit operates in the same way, and has the "same" dimentions/fitment mechanism? Are the 84-88 NA units the same as the turbo? The advance amount is the same across the 82 Turbo, 84-88 Turbo and NA.
SleeperZ
The dizzy physically will not fit. But as far as I know, the electric sensor inside is the same - and the slotted wheel fits inside a 280ZXT dizzy, as well as the wiring harness. Mudge
Hmm, ok, so the thing at the bottom that hooks to the cam effectively is the wrong size/shape/whatever...
Lockjaw
Not the same.
Mudge
Uhh, the electronics or the rest? How about NA 84-88 vs Turbo? Since the guts are the important part, it would be nice to know for the future.

The distributor is quite different, but the electrics are the same, 280ZXT, Z31 and Z31T
Mudge
Ok, thats what I was thinking, Lockjaw's post left that in question with the brevity...
Lockjaw
Well you weren't specific in what you were after. I got an 84ish turbo diz in my basement I snagged the chopper wheel out of, so I could scope it out and see exactly what the difference is. Have to have a V6 chopper wheel for the JWT set-up. Mudge
Since he had beaten you to the punch, he pretty much already said which part worked and which didn't, then you said "no" - so I wasn't quite sure if that was to the original question "are they the same" or that nothing is the same, no biggy, just wasn't obvious which/what you were replying too.
