Mudge
You would be left with much more money if you just buy an engine setup that way. Several companies stopped making products, heads included for the LT1 because it was an engine that lasted only 6 years, the market was poor and some others already established what niche there was. So, if a you get someone to spend $500,000 for tooling to make a head for you, you are going to be very broke, because they aren't going to soak up the costs when maybe 20 people would buy them over a 5 year period of time. The reality is, you wont even find anyone to make you a plastic intake, without serious capitol, and there is no way its worth it.
Tim240z
If you really want to pursue this, try calling Vic Edelbrock, in Torrance, CA. Edelbrock is getting pretty heavily into the import scene. I doubt that it would be cost effective for them and they will likely not want to do it, but they would be the best to talk to. Tim
johnc
Actually, you'll want to talk with Javier Guiterrez at Edelbrock. He's the one that handles the import side of the company. Javier was (is) JG Engine Dynamics and they were purchased by Edelbrock a couple years ago. Conversly, Jim Thompson at Sunbelt or Dave Rebello at Rebello can both built an L6 N42 or P90 head that can make whatever horsepower numbers you want (up to maybe 700). Guest Anonymous
OS Gikken made an L series DOHC 4 valve per cyl head back in the 70`s. The only problem is that the cost is around 12,000(if you can find one).I would suggest if a person wants a DOHC 4 valve Nissan inline 6 they just put an RB 26 in the car.IMO there is nothing wrong with a turbo L series head , I had a mild port job SS valves and a BIG turbo cam the car is still very streetable gets pretty good mileage and at 12psi makes 271rwh. Mudge
Maybe if you could make friends with someone who has a CNC machine, it would still be ALOT of work and some duckets.
