i think that your videos of your Z are definately some of the most popular Z videos, every time i tell someone about my z they are like will it be as fast as that supercharged one? usually my answer is no lol but anyways. i think that you met my old roommate over spring break... his names luke covelli hes friends with this kid paul. i was wonderin if he mentioned me and my budget swap at all. i was also wundrin what sorta car scene there is down near you guys. thanks - pete

I just lamped your photos. Man, you must be a contortionist to work in that area but I got to hand it to you, you/re moving right along. You seem to be doing real well in the metal fab department too. A lot of rust I suspect. I like the doggie shots.

Did you do a full sub-frame? Are you moving the steering column to the right a bit? It kinda looks like you are. Very nice work on the console. Maby too good! You have some fab experience?

Mine is completely stripped and on jack stands. Been that way for three months while I replentished my shop equipment in preperation to begin. Air conditioning and phone is in and doing the wall insulation now as the last of that stuff. Then ther'es the coke machine, TV and Computer to set up. The whole thing scares me so I am stalling as long as possible.....LOL

A reader mentioned a lack of info on my part. I don't particularly like to discuss that in general because I keep changing my plans as I continue to learn more and more about things concerning engine mods. and so forth, and who knows who is going to do what if anything at all? Lack of funds is my enemy here. First I thought one yr., then two and now three.

Anyway, if you can visualize a normally aspirated street/strip machine with a well planned full house BBC in it and those M/T 29x18x15 wrinkle walls on the rear then you got the idea. Heck, I got the wheels and the hubcaps too, nothing can stop me now! Damn, I still can't decide on a Richmond 4+1 or a Powerglide. But I aint' buying until I'm sure.

But this is all jive talk, where is the roller? Hmmmmm. But it will be a street machine basically. I would expect to maby roll into some of you guys area one of these days just to pay my respects.

Maby some progress pics Later.....

well there really wasnt that much rust, i got the car "restored" but knew absolutely nothing about how piss poor a job was done, i had it 8 days and i rearended another car with it and bent the frame, then i bought a mig welder and sorta taught myself to weld. i bought 2x3 tube for the front framerails section (lil narrower than stock) to make more room for motor crap. then i used some heavy wall 1 x2 for my subframes, i figured that if this size is good enough for strengthening stangs and stuff it should be adequate. then i replaced the floors because i hated how they were done. i did the brakes with Ross C's 4 piston kit (thanks ross !!!) and the suspension is all stock for now. dont want to lose interest once i get the car done :)

yes i did full subframes' date=' i dont fancy them much i coulda done a better job had i waited for some more experience but live and learn, the steering coloum looks further because the frame rail is actually half an inch narrower. i dont quite understand what u mean by console??? and my only fab experience comes from this car and this car alone.. i actually got a job working at a fab shop because of the skills ive aquired from this project and i am hoping to go into business for myself in the long term because i really love this sorta thing.

theres no time like the present. man i wish i had all that in my garage, i have sheet rock but its not insulated i have one fan and a really old garage heater that makes more smell than heat i have that single craftsman box the mig and lots of cutting tools like a sawzall ....

Shame on you! An SBC is a mouse and a BBC is a rat. Can anyone tell us how these nick names came about?

yeah but saying i have a mouserod makes it sound like i have small reproductive equipment, ratrod sounds soo much cooler, and mines a rat because im taking no time to make the exterior pretty.... for now :)
