Guest Anonymous
does anyone know the spring rates of these 2 lowering springs? i am getting tokico hp shocks all around on my 71 240z and am either going to with the tokico springs or eibach pro-kits. which one is stiffer? it says both lower the car about 1". but i have heard in more than one case that the eibachs have actually lowered a z 1.75". i would like to get the car lower and since i don't have money for coilovers i plan on cutting the springs ... hahaa...i know how bad that sounds and how bad the ride may be but i do plan on doing it to get my car lower for now. anyone hear cut their springs before? how many coils should i cut off(i know i shouldn't even cut them at all) thanks for any help. Guest Anonymous
i've got eibach pros on mine and they are said to drop 1", but for some reason my front is higher than my rear. could it be the sway links? anyone else have these problems? I installed my Eibachs backwards (fronts in rear and vice-versa) and that's what happened. The progressively wound spring goes in the back. Guest Venture-Z
I plan to cut my springs as well. My car sits high and rides like a 59 caddy, so I wouldn't mind a bit stiffer ride. I read a write up on this and they suggested to start with half a coil, drive it for a couple of days, and if you want to go lower and stiffer, continue on in 1/4 coil incriments. He strongly suggested to drive it for a couple of days between cuts just to make sure you want to go farther. Remember, you can always take more off, but it's harder to put it back on. If you go to low you might want to get progressive bump stops, and or section your struts.
z_boi
i have a 280z and i tink i cut 2 coils from the front and 2 1/4 from the bak Cant quite remeber but im pretty sure it was. the ride isn't very different besides the fact that my shocks are really bad. So if u have good shocks than u wouldnt have too bad of a ride.
Guest thepenguin99
Personally I chose tokico springs because they were only 100 bucks when bought with my shocks. I might have gone with the eibachs if I wasnt planning on installing coilovers eventually.
