SleeperZ
At 45 psi, those suckers are 45lb/hr or 470cc/min. Sounds like potential for 450 safe horsepower. http://www.dune-buggy.com/turbo/injectors.htm
Guest De Schmaydee
..they are great injectors...if they fit my car....they are made for mercedes and volvos....these wont fit on a zcar fuel rail and the zcar injector caps wont fit on them......i talked to some other guys they had the same prob (they have had their systems for a long time)....jwt has to know about the problem...if they would have let me in on it there wouldnt have been a problem.......... ...s
randy 77zt
same injectors i got on my 96 mercury 2.5 efi outboard boat motor.injectors will work.you dont use those little plastic nozzle caps.fuel injectors are generic parts-they werent built to a manufacture's spec. Guest z1 performance
Hmmm...I am using a nice set of 480cc units out of a 928...went into my rail perfectly IIRC..also are Bosch units. As for fuel pump, I have this MONSTER Bosch unit that is out of a Volvo..,,I have tried for ages to find what it puts out, but so far have been unsuccessful. When we bought it, I was looking at the HKS "upgrade" they offer, whcih is a Denso external unit. I remember having the specs on it at one point, and then matching it up to the Bosch equivalent, whch is what I got. Not a "bolt in", but not hard to install either..took about an hour and a half total. Anyway, its a sick pump..if anyone has the means of dissecting the Bosch part numbers according to spec, I can get it for you...I have yet to max out the pump. jeffp
I bought the HKS pump and it worked very well until I went to 4 Bar fuel pressure, then it wet all over itself. here is how you flow test the pump just in case you are interested. You will need a fuel pressure regulator to do the job, and you will need an air source to pressurize the regulator. Set the standard fuel pressure, 3 bar or 4 bar. 36psi, or 58.8psi then you abb the boost pressure to the regulator. Get yourself a gallon jug and run the pump with the boost pressure applied to the regulator for 1 minute. With that figure you will easily be able to calculate the flow rate per hour the pump can do at the pressure you setup. Like I found out, most pumps will flow well up until about 85-87 psi, once you hit 90psi most of them fall out like crazy in the flow rates, that is the big problem with running 4 bar static fuel pressure and then trying to get more then 20 psi of boost. Guest z1 performance
Why would you run 4 bar of base fuel pressure? Mine runs 36 at idle, goes to 42 at "o" psi (no vacuum, no boost), and then simply goes up 1:1 as boost comes in. As for peak pressure, I run 14 psi right now, so max pressure is only 50 psi. If you were seeing numbers in the high 80;s, you must be running a regulator that gives more than a 1:1 ratio of fuel relative to boost. IMHO, running that high a pressure is detrimental to the injectors, as it is a leak waiting to happen in most cases, though you may get away with it for a time.
