dat240zg
Just curious; I've heard of some people running a return line when swapping the L28t into a series1 (more specifically, a 240) but I haven't been able to get the definitive word on whether it's needed. Also, I'm using the '75 tank and am wondering if the stock fuel line will cut it as far as flow is concerned. Anyone able to help? Thanks. SleeperZ
The return line is absolutely needed. The '75 tank will support the turbo motor as far as you need to go. It has 7/16" feed to the pump, 5/16" supply and 5/16" return - that will support 400hp at reasonable pressures. Just remember to keep the fuel above 1/4 tank if you are flogging the car - I was running below that at the track, and coming out of a hard left turn, the engine would momentarily stumble. As soon as I filled up, the problem went away.
Lockjaw
I agree. In my 240, the stock efi pump would work with the stock return line, but once we went to walbro pumps, man they were way to small. I ran a .5 inch copper line for fuel and used the fuel line as the return, not that it was necessary. If you want to have fun and go fast, time to upgrade.
