Can someone please shed some light on the different brands of coilovers, Arizona Z car has them, Ground control, motorsport, and the pricing differs substantially from each other so i am a little confused.

It's for a 72 240Z with RB26DETT.

Ground Control

Part #6015.01

240Z, 260Z

I think Ground Control is great! Many many many sport car enthusiasts use those and i dont think ive ever heard anything bad about them. Ground Control also makes camber plates for the 70-78 z.

http://www.ground-control.com/index.html I think they are located in Cali also.

Tell me about your car and plans. We should meet up sometime.

I heard Ground Control is very good but when i was talking to them they said they only make there springs in 12inch (thats what one guy their told me) and i was told if you run 8ins or wider rear rim then you need a 8in spring. i could very well be wrong though.

I bought my coilovers from Modern Motorsports and Ross was very helpful and his parts are top notch....

Thanks for the reply David :)

The car will be heading for media blast fairly soon, it is a ground up restoration, I have the RB26 lined up, with the R200 LSD, looking for 400 RWHP, time is my factor, don't have a lot of it, I actually work in Long Beach, right by the famous roundabout at PCH.

It is going to be a weekend car, definately will go to the track for trap times. pm me your email, will keep in touch.

As soon as I get it back from media blast I will post pics on my web site, of the entire project.

Thanks.

Guys, I've got two different setups on my cars... I've got the ground controls on one car (12 inch springs) and it has a 5 lug conversion and I'm running 17X9 inch wheels... I currently have 275-40-17s on it but they are at the outer edge of the fender lip. A 255-40 fits PERFECT. Click on my pics to see the car with 245-45-17s on it...

You could use the ground controls.. The other kit I have more labor in, but was MUCH cheaper (At about $300 for all the parts!)

Stock wheels rolling it around right now, but it is flared big time, so that is a whole different animal!
