SleeperZ
Are you sure you aren't talking about an EGR valve? When you say dump pipe, are you referring to the exhaust?
stagefumer11
yeah the exhaust, but yeah it goes in at the dump pipe. EGR? valve

stagefumer11
so can i block it off say with a gasket that isnt punched out or something ?.
SleeperZ
You can remove the valve on the intake with a plate, but don't forget to block the hole in your exhaust manifold too.
stagefumer11
what advantage would i gain doing this ? . i have the problem with changing gear on boost it keeps reving on me, say for 2 seconds would that fix it ?
turbobluestreak
so your car builds RPMS for about 2 seconds after a shit? It sounds like your throttle linkage is in need of a cleaning, adjustment and lubercation. or heck convert it like me to cable linkage. tbs
stagefumer11
is it easy to covert it to cable ? . all the people with R30's with a l20et said theirs do this, probably cus the yare 17 years old or so, but :/
TimZ
I thought the only reason to convert to a cable linkage would be to accomodate a different throttle body that didn't work with the stock linkage. Given a choice, I'd go with the mechanical linkage any day. Does that engine have a BCDD (Boost Controlled Deceleration Device)? You'll have to look in a service manual to find out probably. RPM hanging is a very common symptom of a malfunctioning/misadjusted BCDD.
