Guest LT-1 350Z
Last week i took my car to the track at moroso motorsport park.Since my engine is bone stock(93 vette lt-1)ist has bad fuel injector(chevy caprice my were stock close),bad ingition coil(cuts my spark after 5200rpm)and i broke off the fuel pressure regulator little metal pipe for th vaccum hose.my car went down the track at 12.608 at110.34 mph.not bad for old used 245/50r16 tires I wasn't expecting this times since my car have all this little problems. I drove the car today on the streets of miami.Got myself into a traffic light next to new tt supra with some visuals mods from front mount big intercooler, big exhaust pipe and a super loud turbo sound.at the green light my jumped in front of the supra and pulled 3 cars in first and second gears at the end of third my auto trany doesn't upshift at full throttle(also need to be fixe)so i had to let go.he pulled next to me and told me that he had a z and regreted that he solded. the race only lasted seconds but it was worth all the time & money spend on my car.On wensday i'm going back to the track. i bought new injectors ,fuel pressure regulator, msd, new coil & sticky mickey sportmans tires hopefully i will lower my ets by the way my car weight in at 2600 pounds with a full tank of gas no driver. thank for charing my experience
Guest the_dj
The Z I'm about to get has an LT1 in it, so this was a nice story to hear. I guess I'll be in the 12's with it no doubt, but I was previously guessing mid-13's. Glad to hear about it. That Supra story....fuuuuun. Makes me not want to wait....I don't get my car until Thursday. DJSS

Guest LT-1 350Z
I recomend the v8 to all my friends and when they see my car the love it is not a 10 but i'm doing my best.My 60 ft were 1.98 with tires i can do at least 3tenths faster.and i have the service engine light on. tomorrow i'm fixing the little problems.I hope that it will run better & faster ,if not i will put all the bad parts back and let them make the car faster.the nitrous kit is sitting next to the car, but i need a better fuel pump(now i have 280zx turbo pump). utvolman99
The injectors may not be your problem. Im not a FI guy but you may be starving your fuel system with that ZX fuel pump! If Im not mistaken the LT-1 takes a ton of fuel pressure to function properly.
Guest Anonymous
Lt-1 350 Z, I arn my lt-1 for about 2 years with the 280-z fuel pump. Worked fine. Are you sure you have a spark problem? If not, find some one with a scan tool and make a couple of runs with the tool to diagnosis your problem. I'm assuming you are using the stock computer, reprogrammed to get around the VATS. May also want to look it to valve float. The 93 cars from my understanding and experience have had this problem at just above 5k. I have come across 3 1993 motors including mine that have had this problem. It would hit so hard on my car that I would almost go thru the windshield. I later changed to a stiffer spring and it was a different car. Good luck, hope that helps. I went thru about a year of throwing parts at the car to try to fix what I thought was a fuel delivery problem or a spark problem. Guest LT-1 350Z
mark thanks for the tip.I'm running stock 93 z28 chip with the pass key connected for security reason.my previuos car was a 93 z28 ,i had the same problem and coil was the problem back then.I'm a auto technician myself. the computer is a GM factory rema ,but my scanner is giving me a quad driver fault(bad ECM)so i don't what to do for now .I want to wait to put heads & cam and then mess with the programing. DavyZ
An LT1 T56 combo would just rip! I was talking to one of the 'boyz' today and we agree that the LT1 is one heck of a motor to stuff in a 1st gen Z...ah, I am dreaming, but it may just happen!!!!
