80LS1T
Well I got everything working now and I am taking my car to work tommorow! 8) I think you guys were right about my Y-Pipe connection being too small(2.5") cause it seems a little sluggish down low. At about 2500rpms its fine but down low in the the 1000-2500 it seems to be running a little on the rough side. I also think I can feel a vibration coming from that area of the car(Y-Pipe area) I am going to put in on a scanner tommorow after work and see if I can find anything obvious. I am still going to go to atleast a 3" Y-Pipe connection though. I am going to see if I can go with a 3.5" though. Tommorow is going to be a great day! Its also my 21st birthday! Dont worry though I dont drink and drive. I dont even drink that much as it is, maybe 5 times a year. I'm too busy spending money on my car to drink it away! 8) Well wish me luck! Top Fuel ZX
Sounds awesome ...gotta post some pics of the engine and stuff. 500hp 280zx is gonna annihilate most street cars if you can get the traction. Happy birthday too. It'll be my 19th birthday on the 27th. Time goes by too quick now...had my 280zx for 3 years......and still no v8 . Have fun killing those hondas Sean
80LS1T
Well I "only" have about 400HP @ the flywheel but I think I will still be able to beat most street cars. Guy
Guest greimann
A major milestone for sure! Good work.! Just know that debugging and revising things is a normal evolutionary process on hybrid cars. Don't let problems get you down. And your exhaust is not going to be the cause of rough or sluggish running at low RPM. It must be a tuning issue. High RPM sufferes with a restrictive exhaust. 80LS1T
Yeah I am kinda wondering if maybe it is a transmission issue because when it is out of gear and not moving it runs great. I check fuel pressure today and it is right at 40 psi. I think I will get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and up my pressure to 45-47psi like the LT1 is used to. I am going to put my car up on jack stands tommorow and pull the inspection plate off the tranny and have a look inside for any obviouse signs of trouble. My coolant temp is staying at 180 degrees while cruising and at a stop in traffic it hovers at 200-210 degrees. 210deg. isnt a problem right? I thought that was normal. I dont even have a 2 speed tauras fan either, I just have the one speed version because I bought the wrong one. I do have and electric water pump and a Griffin 26"x19" radiator though. Tim240z
The stock temp setting for the low speed fans to kick on in a Camaro (LT1) is 226 degree, so 210 is no problem. I have issues with waiting that long for the fans to kick on though, especially since the temp will spike over 230 degree easily before the fans cool the system enough, so I reprogrammed the PCM to lower it by 15 degree before the fans kick on (In my Z28).
